Melodies of a Tortoise #2
Song description::
“People like to say love is unconditional, but it's not, and even if it was unconditional, it's still never free. There's always an expectation attached. They always want something in return. Like they want you to be happy or whatever and that makes you automatically responsible for their happiness because they won't be happy unless you are ... I just don't want that responsibility.”― The Sea of Tranquility
So what kind of love surpasses these? When all religions taught us to do good things in order to receive a reward in the later life, there's a God who silently whispers,
"No, my dear child, you are greatly loved, you don't have to earn your way into heaven."
"Do good, not for the reward, but because I have greatly loved you."
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
以弗所书 2:8-9
8 你们得救是本乎恩,也因着信。这并不是出于自己,乃是神所赐的; 9 也不是出于行为,免得有人自夸。
