Phone calls

I felt a strong sense of deja vu the minute I heard a female-china-girl voice speaking through the receiver. Oh no, please, not again. But of course, what you dread the most, often turned out to be true.  It's another call from some who-knows-what agency advertising about their stuffs. I'm really bad at handling this kind of phone calls. Usually, my parents would advise us to just say "sorry not free/interested" and then put the receiver down or, if you wanna be quick, just put the receiver down without saying anything. =.=llll For some weird reasons still unknown, I find it really hard to do my parents' suggestion, hence, putting myself in a difficult situation!
Yeah, so today this girl called up and started explaining lots of stuff in her super efficient+fluent+ a little weird slang mandarin. Well, I listened silently to what she had to say even though most of the time I could not understand what she's talking. I thought that, perhaps, after she finished saying everything that she had to say, she would say goodbye and off the phone. But no!! I was so so wrong!!!

XX: 请问您贵姓？请问您父母在家吗? 为了方便联络，可以给我您父母的电话号码吗？

I was like...........OH MY GOODNESS.............why is she asking all these personal stuff? HOW should I answer her?!?! HOW should I reject her?! At that moment, my brain was furiously thinking up a sentence to reject her politely. Yeah all would be easy if my brain had not rust from the result of rotting at home for weeks. Just when the perfect sentence came up, then only did I realized a serious problem...HOW AM I GOING TO TELL HER THIS IN MANDARIN?? Translate that sentence!! Quick, translate to mandarin! I was practically screaming to myself.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the phone...........
XX: 哈罗？请问您贵姓？请问您父母在家吗? 为了方便联络，可以给我您父母的电话号码吗？


Please, have mercy on me!!!!!!!  At that time, every part of my brain was screaming "just put the stupid receiver down!" , but I just couldn't bring myself to slam the phone down. I mean, come onnnnnnnn, that's rude okay!!
 
In the end....this was what happened(NONE OF YOU READING THIS ARE ALLOWED TO LAUGH) :
 
XX: 请问您贵姓？
Me: 谢...(feeling stupid)
XX: 请问您父母在家吗?
Me: 不在.......(feeling more stupid...WHY AM I TELLING HER ALL THIS?)
XX: 那他们几点回来？
Me: 不清楚.....(@#4%^&*#!%$)
XX: 为了方便联络，可以给我您母亲的电话号码吗？
Me: 对不起，但是我的妈妈不太会讲华语.......(thinking myself very smart haha!)
XX: 那.....可以给我您父亲的电话号码吗？
Me: ..................(crap, what excuse should I give now.....)
XX: 可以给我您父亲的电话号码吗？
Me: ...............errrr........
XX: 您父亲的电话号码是什么？
Me: *silent* (can you stop pestering me for my dad's number? =.= That would be the worst mistake you   ever made)
XX: 请问您父亲的手机号码是...？

Me: 01X-XXXXXXX( fine.....I give up...let my dad handle you properly haha!)
XX: 好的，谢谢您。 拜拜。
Me: bye bye...( I seriously did not feel like saying goodbye nicely!!! All I wanted was to slam the receiver down!)

So I wasted approximately 30 minutes on the phone with her. It was a total NIGHTMARE!!!! Can you imagine how I felt throughout the conversation? It was so so so agonizing!!!!! Can't she tell from my silence that I'm not willing to give her the number?

TRUST ME, after this nightmarish conversation...

I will definitely NOT pick up any phone calls in a hurry @@

By the way, don't worry! I'll start picking up phone calls again after I get used to my parents' advice...which is to slam the receiver down straightaway! I just need more practice.. MUAHAHAHAHAHA..(:
